Persistent construction delays led to this brand new circuit being denied FIA approval until just a few days before last year’s inaugural event. Although the racetrack was declared safe, the infrastructure and spectator facilities were conspicuous by their absence. Twelve months down the line, Korea will be a more attractive proposition but Yeongam’s relative remoteness will still present a challenge.
