" What a crazy race! “ exclaimed Button in the aftermath of the 2009 Malaysian GP, “It was really exciting out there”. Pole-sitter Jenson was forced to play catch-up having been beaten off the line by Rosberg and Trulli. No sooner had the Brawn hit the front than the looming black clouds threw the race into chaos. First came a brief period of light rain, soon after a full blown monsoon, complete with thunder and forked lightning. The ever changing conditions saw Button switching tyres twice in three laps but he proved himself a man for all seasons and was still ahead when, with cars aquaplaning everywhere, the red flag brought proceedings to an early conclusion.
Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital, is a prosperous, cosmopolitan city with a vibrant and friendly multi-racial populace. The magnificent Petronas Towers stand alongside modern skyscrapers, Indian and Chinese temples, colonial buildings and mosques in a unique blend of cultures and a kaleidoscope of traditions. Formula One has rapidly established itself in South East Asia and the Sepang circuit, an hour’s drive from KL, has set a standard by which all new venues are measured. Wonderful hotels, exceptional value for money and guaranteed sunshine -what more could you ask for from an Easter Holiday? For a longer vacation, why not tag on a few days’ relaxation in Penang? Even better, our “Double Header” Australian & Malaysian Holiday, combines two wonderful Grands Prix with a stopover in Sydney.
